Qasr Al Hosn is known to be the oldest stone building in the city of Abu Dhabi. Before becoming the residing place for the princes of Abu Dhabi, it was once a watchtower used to defend the only source of fresh water in the city. This structure defined the dawn of a new era in the history of Abu Dhabi, an era of culture & modernism. Later becoming the cradle where many new eras of modernity unfolded. Today even though this tower is physically dwarfed by surrounding high rise structures , It will forever remain the beating heart of Abu Dhabi, the cultural and historical stronghold of the city, looking down upon all other structures. Just as Qasr Al Hosn was the beating heart of an entire civilization, Nabati Poetry was the beating heart of the entire culture in the region.
The main set is a perfect reflection of the theme previously explained. It places the audience in the middle of Qasr Al Hosn, looking outwards towards the city, like a watchman overlooks and keeps his people safe. The towers of qasr l Hosn this time, dwarf all other towers of the city
The elements of symbolism in the set:
The Wall & Ramp: A defensive structure inspired by The walls of Qasr Al Hosn
The Towers of Qasr Al Hosn : made of light and glass to symbolize the cultural enlightenment brought forth by this structure and consequently Nabati poetry.
The Cityscape of Abu Dhabi: made from led screen towers and light towers that draw resemblance from the very first watchtower in the city
