Following the destructive Beirut blast which ravaged the Lebanese capital in august 2020 this house succumbed unimmaginable damage and was on the verge of collapsing. An uinitiative to rehabilitate it and transform it into a space for theatrical training was undertaken by Ettijahat - an NGO supporting oriental artists.

The concept was to leave the memory of the space, its history and the marks of its inhabitants while transforming it into a training center with lecture rooms and a central space for lighting and sound training. The approach undertaken was to reveal the various paint layers that existed in this hous prior to its destruction and frame them while keeping an apparent new technical network that aliments the new functions housed in this space
