Christmas Art Installation [Jounieh - Lebanon]
“Immaterial Gifts”
Now more than ever, people have become preoccupied more with material gifts rather than immaterial ones. We are more preoccupied with the meal more than the people around the table, with the form of charity more than the humans being helped and their happiness.
This manger was an invitation for people to rethink the spirit of Christmas they live. Everyone involved in the parish was taught how to make origami doves and presented them to be part of the manger. On each dove was written the name of a child suffering from autism, after Christmas each person would take a dove and help that child anonymously.
The manager was the only protection Jesus had from the harshness of the world, and in turn, each person will become that protector, that guardian through helping people in need.
